Will we be able to use the resort’s pools and hot tubs?
Absolutely. You will have a special “Splash ’n Soak” keycard that will give you access to the indoor pool and hot tub, the year-round outdoor pool and hot tub, the fitness center and two saunas.
How about the resort’s “free” kayaks, canoes, bikes and other equipment?
So for routine recreational amenities, we've made arrangements for you to use these high-value Coupons toward rentals of bikes, canoes, kayaks and more at Sawtooth Outfitters, located across the highway from Bluefin's Guest Services building. Sawtooth Outfitters offers many other exclusive services and options as well.
Will a “Resort Service Fee” be added to our checkout bill?
No! Many resorts charge such a fee — some are currently near 7%. This fee is one way some resorts help to cover the costs of their “free” services. At Bluefin Bay By Owner, only smaller fees are added, for shared purposes detailed on the booking firm website — and we also provide valuable Coupons to use on rental equipment.
Those Guest Appreciation Coupons for rentals of skis, snowshoes, canoes, bikes, kayaks, etc., — how do they work?
You’ll receive a sheet of Coupons, with individual Coupons worth $10, $20, $25, or $30 each. Value of the Coupon sheet starts at $20-$40 for 2 persons 2 nights in quiet time, & climbs exponentially from there to as much as $450 for a longer larger-party high-season stay. What if we have some Coupons left at the end of our stay?
Coupons expire at the end of your stay. If you have any left over, you may use the remaining dollar amounts against a future reservation within one year.
Can we charge services to our rental home?
You will not have an account against which you can charge purchases. However, you are welcome to use a credit card around the Bluefin Bay Resort for meals in the restaurants, purchases in the gift shops, etc.
Will the phones in our rental home be connected to the resort’s front desk?
Some cell-phone services do not work in Tofte. Therefore, as a convenience to our guests, all phones in our homes are programmed to connect directly to Cascade Vacation Rentals. The first “stored number” in the wireless handset will connect you the front desk at Cascade Vacation Rentals (where you can receive assistance during business hours). The second “stored number” will connect you to Cascade 24/7 help line. The Cascade folks will happily assist you with all your needs during your stay.
Who handles the details of our Bluefin Bay By Owner reservations?
We are working with Cascade Vacation Rentals, a firm with an excellent reputation and years of experience. Their office and campus is located in Lutsen.. You can visit them at the Cascade Vacation Rentals website or call them at 1-218-663-7971.
Can we ever stop by and preview these homes?
You're invited to do so any time the homes are not occupied. If you're passing through Tofte, or staying elsewhere at the Resort, give the Cascade Vacation Rentals office a call at 1-218-663-7971 and they'll help you out.
Are there any other differences?
A few: We aim to have the homes “extra tweaked” for each arrival — a light or two on; some shades up for brightness; some windows open slightly for fresh air as weather permits; world-class personalized Keurig coffee service, with Caribou & Green Mountain flavors & quality our guests rave about; finest Harney & Sons silk-sachet teas; multiple, modern phone handsets in each home that take messages for you privately; highest-quality Land O’Lakes hot chocolate assortments; etc. We’re also happy our checkout housekeeping services are provided by, Jinsey, arguably the best “housekeeper” on the North Shore — Jinsey does everything for our *Premium Homes* for uniform quality control.
